La 77.ª edición de los Premios Emmy se celebró este domingo 14 de septiembre de 2025 en el Peacock Theatre de Los Ángeles, California, reconociendo lo mejor de la televisión emitida entre junio de 2024 y mayo de 2025. La gala, conducida por Nate Bargatze y transmitida en vivo por CBS, dejó como grandes triunfadores a las series Adolescence, The Studio y The Pitt.

El británico Stephen Graham, actor y co-creador de Adolescence, se llevó dos galardones clave: Mejor Guion en Serie Limitada (junto a Jack Thorne) y Mejor Actor Principal en Serie Limitada o Película para Televisión, marcando un hito en su carrera.

Stephen Graham: emoción y humildad tras su victoria

Al recibir su segundo Emmy de la noche, Graham no ocultó su sorpresa:

“Esto no suele pasarle a alguien como yo. Soy un chico mestizo de un barrio obrero en Kirkby. Estar aquí, frente a mis colegas, y recibir este reconocimiento es lo más humilde y grande que puedo imaginar. Cualquier sueño es posible”.

El actor venció a figuras como Colin Farrell (The Penguin), Jake Gyllenhaal (Presumed Innocent), Cooper Koch (Monsters) y Brian Tyree Henry (Dope Thief).

Adolescence: la serie más premiada de los Emmy 2025

La miniserie de Netflix Adolescence partía como favorita con 13 nominaciones y cumplió con creces. La historia, centrada en un padre de familia (Graham) que descubre que su hijo (Owen Cooper) es acusado de un crimen atroz, conquistó premios en actuación, guion y dirección.

Filosofía de trabajo en Adolescence

En entrevista con IndieWire, Graham contó que uno de los principios en el rodaje fue mantener un ambiente sano:

“Lo fundamental era que no hubiera egos en el set. Queríamos un equipo creativo y humano, con el que valiera la pena compartir tiempo y talento”.

Próximos proyectos de Stephen Graham

Tras el éxito en los Emmy, Graham se prepara para nuevos retos: interpretará a Dutch Springsteen en Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, participó en el TIFF con Good Boy y rueda producciones como The Immortal Man, Lazarus y Animol. Además, se especula sobre su participación en la secuela de Greyhound con Tom Hanks.
